"The shipbuilding
industry is currently experiencing a boom cycle. We must seize this favorable
opportunity, align ourselves with the new trends of green, low-carbon, and
intelligent development, and accelerate the production of high-tech, high
value-added products. This will propel Jiangsu toward becoming a shipbuilding
powerhouse," emphasized Xin Changxing, Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial
Party Committee, during his on-site inspection at the company’s production
frontline on the afternoon of February 20.
On that day, the No. 2
Shipyard was bustling with activity, with massive ships towering over the yard and production
in full swing, showcasing a thriving
development momentum. Secretary Xin Changxinginquired in detail about the company’s production and operations, technological
innovations, and safety practices. He received detailed briefings on the construction progress of two 16,000
TEU container ships and asked about order
volumes, safety protocols, and other critical issues, offering guidance and
encouragement for the company's high-quality development. President Gao
Yongqiang provided thorough responses, highlighting the company’s innovative
efforts in advancing intelligent transformation and digital transition during
the construction of a national first-class intelligent factory. He gave a detailed
overview of the production control center's functions and advantages, followed
by a live demonstration that allowed the research team to gain a firsthand
understanding of the company’s intelligent production processes.
At the No. 2 Wharf,
Secretary Xin Changxing and his delegation visited the 16,000 TEU container
ship undergoing outfitting, and gained an in-depth understanding of the development
of China COSCO SHIPPING Group's shipping, port, logistics, shipping finance,
ship repair and shipbuilding sectors in Jiangsu and Nantong. Xin commendedthe Group and Heavy Industry for their significant contributions to Jiangsu’s
local economic growth.
During the visit,
Secretary Xin Changxing stressed the importance of safety, noting that occupational safety constitutes
the cornerstone of corporate growth and demands utmost attention. It is essential to proactively identify and remedy risks and hidden hazards to solidify the foundation
of safety.
On behalf of the company, Mr. Gao
Yongqiang affirmed their commitment to unwaveringly carry out the
directives of the provincial committee and government. The company is dedicated to elevating its capabilities in
high-end, smart, and eco-friendly development. They will maintain stringent
oversight over workplace safety as they strive to make significant
contributions to the establishment of a world-class shipbuilding and marine
engineering advanced manufacturing hub in Jiangsu.
This survey by the
leadership of Jiangsu Province has served as both recognition of the company's
accomplishments in maritime manufacturing and a strategic roadmap for its
next-phase development. The company will adhere to higher standards and
stricter requirements to promote high-quality development, supporting Jiangsu’s
shipbuilding ambitions and the development of the Group’s and Heavy Industry’s
shipbuilding and repair divisions.
