    The 2024 Annual Work Meeting Was Held

    On March 1, 2024, the Company held its annual work meeting, the Party building work meeting, the safety and environmental protection meeting and the meeting on Party integrity, clean governance, and anti-corruption efforts. The gatherings were aimed at studying and conveying the directives from the 2024 annual work meeting of COSCOSHIPPING/CHI, the 33rd Board Meeting of the Third Board of Directors of the Company, the third plenary session of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, and the higher-level meeting on Party conduct and corruption prevention. During these sessions, the Company reviewed the achievements of 2023, conducted a thorough analysis of the current situation, and outlined the strategic tasks for 2024. The meetings called upon all managers and employees to keep their mission in mind, to strive for excellence and to take responsibility to make new contributions to the sustainable and high-quality development of the enterprise. The gatherings were attended by supervisors at the level of team leader and above.

    Mr. Gao Yongqiang, the President (COSCOSHIPPING), delivered the annual work report. He highlighted that in 2023, in response to the complex and changeable external environment after the epidemic, all managers and employees worked diligently to tackle challenges, committing to both quality enhancement and quantitative growth, thereby achieving a "dual breakthrough" in both revenue and profit. In 2024, the Company must remain united, better align production with factors such as quality, safety, environmental protection, and cost management, concentrate on the entire process, and drive high-quality development to attain new accomplishments.

    Mr. Junji Maeda, the President (KHI), provided a comprehensive analysis of the current situation of the shipping industry and new shipbuilding market. He presented a strategic plan for the year 2024, calling on all employees to be proactive and prudent in the face of changes in the external environment. Mr. Maeda emphasized the importance of ensuring excellence in production and operations while encouraging the team to work collaboratively and strive for perfection. Furthermore, he advocated the use of intelligent and eco-friendly design and construction practices to deliver superior-quality shipping carriers for the industry.

    Mr. Xu Wenyu, the Secretary of the Party Committee, delivered a report on the work of the Party Committee. He urged all Party members and employees to remain true to their original aspirations and missions, to solidify and expand the achievements of thematic education, and to tackle the core task of corporate reform and development with determination and vigor. He emphasized the importance of continuously enhancing the Party-building work mechanisms within the joint Sino-foreign shipbuilding enterprises with equal shareholding. By doing so, the aim is to sustain high-quality party leadership that fosters high-quality development of the Company, thereby making a significant contribution to the Company's ongoing, healthy, and stable growth.

    Mr. Wang Zhihua, the Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, delivered a report on the work of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, imparting the essence of the Central Committee's directives as well as the principles and guidelines from the higher-level meeting on Party conduct and corruption prevention. In 2024, under the guidance of the central and upper-level decisions and plans, the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Company aims to further improve the political stance, foster a strict enforcement environment for Party discipline and anti-corruption efforts, and provide strong disciplinary support to ensure the company's high-quality development.

    Mr. Li Yong, the Vice President, delivered a report on safety and environmental protection, requiring managers at all levels to resolutely take up the critical task of ensuring safety, maintaining stability, and promoting development. He emphasized the creation of a safety culture where those in charge of operations are equally responsible for safety, and those overseeing production are tasked with safety as well. The goal is to collaboratively ensure the thorough implementation of all safety responsibilities and measures, fully leveraging the comprehensive benefits of safety and environmental protection management and control.

    During the meeting, commendations were given to the exemplary collectives and individuals of the year 2023. Mr. Wang Zhihua, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, presided over the meeting.
